On our safari with Spencer and Dayna, we not only saw many of the animals, but it was a smorgasbord of strange and beautiful birds. We were very happy and excited to take the time to enjoy and photograph the ones who would permit us to. These are the Southern Ground
Hornbill and are considered rare. We were lucky.

The Lilac Breasted Roller. Spencer took this picture with our camera. This one was very photogenic as he posed for several very nice pictures.
Truly, this is one of the most beautiful birds we have seen. He had seven different colored feathers.

The Southern Red Bishop. Note the acrobatic pose. He is also one of the most colorful and one of our favorite birds to photograph.

The Yellow
Hornbill is abundant in the National Parks. This one was in Kruger Park and is just preparing for lunch.

The Steppe Buzzard is patiently looking for his next meal.

We think this is the White-
throated Swallow. We love the blue color.

The Yellow Weaver.
This one is not as common as the Yellow Masked Weaver but, equally beautiful. The bright yellow color makes him a wonderful picture. The weavers are fairly common in So. Africa and you see their nests in many places, such as trees and bushes.

The White-backed Vulture. I think he was hanging around me with the thought that he had spotted his next meal. I sure fooled him. Looks are deceiving sometimes.

The beautiful, multicolored European Bee-eater.
