Colorful costumes and lively dancing add spice and variety to these wonderful turn-over ceremonies.
All ceremonies are highlighted with the ribbon cutting at one of the water fountains. The young man to the right is the Commune Maire.
It is customary for us to put our lives on the line by taking the first drink of water from the new system. If we are still standing at the end of the ceremony, they deem the water to be safe for the rest of the community.
Here we are with the rest of the dignitaries. This is a very happy day for all. One we always look forward to.

What great pictures! I love the looks on the faces of the people, dancing and smiling. You are doing such a great work there. Your trust in the water you are drinking shows that you believe it to be clean. You are making some wonderful friends there, ones you will never forget! I hope you are able to understand the language they speak better than I can understand the German here. It's one of my frustrations, sitting in R.S. and not being able to contribute...or to just say anything! I guess my mission here is to just listen, now that is a major change isn't it? Love you guys and please take care,
MarJean & Rich
You are brave souls to test the water. What a testimony and example to venture out into the unknown and share the knowledge of the Gospel as well as the building up of the temporal things of life. The fountain of truth is what you share. We love your stories and feel of your faith and strength in the Gospel.
