Trip to Mpumalanga

One of the last things we expected to see in the wilds of Africa was a herd of wild horses. While driving near the small tourist town of Kaapsehoop we came upon this small herd of horses roaming along side the road. We found out that this is truly a wild herd and the only one anywhere in So. Africa.
God's Window at Blyde River Canyon. This is the third largest canyon in the world, right behind Grand Canyon and one in Mexico. As opposed to the other two, this canyon is lined with lush green vegetation and is spectacular. It is like walking up to the end of the Earth and looking over the edge.
Another view at God's Window.
Bourke's Luck Potholes. In the area of these potholes, many years ago, a man named Bourke discovered gold here on the Blyde River. This is a deep gorge lined with these strange round potholes carved into the soft stone walls of the gorge over eons of time by the river current. It must have been a difficult task removing the gold from the river, but, as they say, "greed finds a way".
The Three Rondavels. Near the head of the canyon, the Three Rondavels stand overlooking the Blyde River below. "Rondavel" is the name of the traditional round huts with the cone shaped roof that the natives of the bush in Africa live in.
This breathtaking view point is called "World's End". It overlooks the beautiful Blyde River Canyon and the Blydepoort Reservoir. We have seen few sights to equal this one.

WOW! That's what I'd expect to see in South America, not Africa. Strange. Glad you have the opportunity to explore the country you are serving in. Thanks for sharing and giving us an insight into another beautiful part of God's creation of the world.
